Ford's Job 1 for the Mach 1 is to start on Oct. 7th (Actual Production started the week of Nov. 4th )and delivery sometime starting Thanksgiving 2002 thru Christmas. Could be later into 2003 also.
Dealer can place orders into the computer, however, actual factory orders will be starting on Oct. 1.
NO, but the Mach 1's will have an old distinctive 'R' Engine Code in the VIN #, this is unique to the Mach 1's only.
i.e.) 1FAFP42R43F371400
The LAST 6 Digits is the Sequence number of all Mustangs (V6's, GT, etc.). The 2003 Model year starts at 300001, therefore, if your VIN # is 371400, your mustang is approx. the 71,400 off the assembly line.
Once 2003 Production is complete, we will hopefully get a complete Mach 1 VIN list and then we can tell you where you fall in the production #'s.

It totally depends on your relationship with your dealer. Most dealers are ordering for $500-$1000 down payment. If you have good dealers standings, some are accepting without a down payment.
Please check with the dealer, some are NON-Refundable, even if you DO NOT receive your vehicle!!!

Yes and No - Many dealers are not giving any deals on special production cars like
the Mach 1, Cobra or T-Bird. However, some are willing to accept the special "Plan
Pricing". Most Mach 1's are going for MSRP or less!
You should be able to find a Left over 2003 at a good price!!! Rebates and all!
Check with your dealers. We have seen them going for Invoice pricing or below!
All the stripes will be Black.

Acknowledgement. All this does is let the
dealer double check that the vehicle was ordered correctly and that the order
has been received in Fords "ORDER BANK". It does not mean the factory has the
order. In Laymen's terms the factory doesn't get the "order" until the car is
"SCHEDULED" for Production. Also, it does NOT guarantee you will
actually get the vehicle.
i.e.) If you order a 2003 GT right now, you should get a scheduled build date
and VIN # rather quickly, since they are in production of the 2003's. It may
take a while (months) to get a Mach 1 scheduled and actually receive a VIN #.
Check with your dealer
to see if they are actually Allocated a Mach 1 from the region. NOT all dealers
will receive a Mach 1. Others may get more than 1.
